The books of Psalms gives us good reason to be optimistic in life. How? Let’s take a look at some verses from that book:
Psalm 18:1-3: I love you, Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; My God is rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I called to the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and I have been saved from my enemies.
This psalm tells us that we can trust in Him in times of trouble. He is the source of our strength and He will deliver us from our enemies.
Psalm 2:1-4: Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against His anointed, saying, “Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.” He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.
Psalm 1:1-6: Blessed in the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree, planted by the rivers of water; that brings forth its fruit in it’s season, whose leaf also shall not wither and whatever he does shall prosper. But the ungodly are not so, they are like the chaff which the wind drives away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgement, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
The Lord will bless those who put their trust in Him and walk in His statutes and laws; and He says that, “the righteous shall inherit the earth”. He also punishes those who stray from His commandments.
Psalm 2:10-12: Be wise now therefore, O ye Kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the son, lest He be angry, and ye perish from the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in Him.
The most important reason to be optimistic in life is because God gives us hope for the future. We can always rely and trust in Him to deliver us from oppressors, and watch over us during this life time. He also promises blessings to those who obey Him.
Psalm 16:5: The Lord is the portion of my inheritance and of my cup; thou maintainest my lot.
Psalm 9:5-6: Thou hast rebuked the heathen, thou hast destroyed the wicked, thou hast put out their name forever and ever. O thou enemy, destructions are come to a perpetual end: and thou hast destroyed cities; their memorial is perished with them.
So trust in the Lord, and be optimistic toward the future! 🙂
