This is a fun way to share our favorite books with other people, and I challenge all of you to do the same thing!

Here is how this tag works; choose your book and fill in the following form:

First Line of the book.

Recruit fans by adding the book blurb.

Introduce the main character using only three words

Delightful design (add the cover of the book).

Audience appeal (who would enjoy reading this book).

Your favorite line/scene.

Here is the book of my choice: Divergent

First line of the book:

“There is one mirror in our house.”

Recuit fans by adding the book blurb:

“In Beatrice Prior’s dystopian Chicago, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue – Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is – she can’t have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.

During the highly competitive initiation that follows, Beatrice renames herself Tris and struggles to determine who her friends really are – and where, exactly, a romance with a sometimes fascinating, sometimes infuriating boy fits into the life she’s chosen. But Tris also has a secret, one she’s kept hidden from everyone because she’s been warned it can mean death. And as she discovers a growing conflict that threatens to unravel her seemingly perfect society, she also learns that her secret might help her save those she loves……..or it might destroy her.”

Introduce the main character using only three words:

Brave, Selfless, and smart.

Delightful design:

Audience appeal:

Anyone who is into dystopian novels and future societies will love this book! Even if you are not into that kind of book, I think many people would still enjoy it because it is full of action, suspense and some mystery. It is AMAZING!!

Your favorite line/scene:

Ok, I have two favorites! No, wait……..I just thought of a third one! Oh well.

One of my favorite scenes in the book is when Beatrice chooses the faction to which she will devote the rest of her life. I won’t quote the book because I do not want to give away the story. 🙂

Another favorite of mine, is when she is brave enough to be the first person to jump of the ledge of a really tall building, it gives me shivers whenever I read it!

“Wind whips through my clothes, making the fabric snap. The building I’m on forms one side of a square with three other buildings. In the center of the square is a huge hole in the concrete. I can’t see what’s at the bottom of it.

This is a scare tactic. I will land safely at the bottom. That knowledge is the only thing that helps me step onto the ledge. My teeth chatter. I can’t back down now. Not with all the people betting I’ll fail behind me.

I don’t think. I just bend my knee and jump.”

I hope this book review makes you interested in reading Divergent, because it is a really great book!

I would love it if you would continue this tag for yourself! Consider yourselves tagged! 😉

  1. Did you watch the movie? It kinda looks like the hunger games so I wanted to watch it. The hunger games are my FAVORITE series. I recall that the trailer looked like maybe there were inappropriate scenes?

    1. Yes I watched the movie just a couple of weeks ago and I LOVE it!! I know, Hunger Games is my favorite series of all time!! 🙂

Well, there is one scene where there is a more passionate kiss, but nothing past that. There is one other scene that might need to be skimmed over……..but that scene is not really important to the story so it can be skipped. Other than that it is relatively clean…..not a lot of language and stuff so that is good. 🙂
I am going to watch the second one tonight with my parents, and the trailer looks like there is more questionable things in it. And if so then I can let you know. 🙂
